Re-opening of the Guildford to Cranleigh Railway Line
There has been much talk and speculation
on the possible re-opening of the line, the most likely option
was a line from Peasmarsh Junction that ran just as far as Cranleigh.
It now seems very unlikely that it will
ever re-open, but the track bed is now 'protected through the
statutory planning process' so maybe the council hasn't dismissed
the idea altogether!
